From the very beginning, Chloe made an overwhelming and frightening experience feel lighter.
Our daughter was born two months early and spent 26 days in the NICU. In those weeks, we met many incredible nurses and doctors, but Chloe stood out in a way that we will never forget.

She was one of our daughter’s very first nurses, and the care, compassion, and kindness she showed went far beyond anything we could have expected. From the very beginning, Chloe made an overwhelming and frightening experience feel lighter. She patiently explained medical terms in ways that were easy for us to understand, helping us feel less lost in a world that was completely new and terrifying.

She didn’t just care for our daughter—she cared for us as parents too, offering comfort, reassurance, and genuine kindness on some of our hardest days. Chloe also went out of her way to make our experience personal and special. She learned that I was a big Taylor Swift fan, and soon began creating sweet, thoughtful crafts for our daughter’s area with Taylor Swift themes. These small touches may sound simple, but they meant the world to us. They showed how deeply Chloe cared about making our family feel seen and supported, even in the most stressful times of our lives.

Her thoughtfulness extended well beyond her assigned shifts. Even on days when Chloe was not our daughter’s nurse, she would still come by to check on our daughter and on us. Before our daughter was discharged, Chloe even made a special visit during one of her shifts, which meant so much to us. These actions were never required of her, but they showed the true depth of her compassion and her heart for her patients and their families.

Now, nearly a year later, as we prepare to celebrate our daughter’s first birthday, I still think about Chloe almost every single day. Her kindness, her compassion, and her ability to bring comfort during one of the hardest seasons of our lives left a permanent mark on our hearts. We are forever grateful that she was part of our daughter’s NICU journey. Nursing is not just Chloe’s profession—it is clearly her calling, and she was made for it.
