Chloe made sure that I felt included in my daughter‘s care, never making me feel rushed or uncomfortable.
Three parents nominated Chloe, the first stating: "Chloe is a true definition of what a nurse should be. Kids and families don’t come to the hospital because it’s a good day. It’s stressful, scary, and probably one of the most vulnerable/emotional times in a person‘s life. When you have a nurse like Chloe who lights up the room as soon as she walks in, it makes a tough time seem lighter. That’s a different type of bedside manner. That comes from the heart and good character. Something I believe all nurses should possess. Chloe was healing in so many ways. Not only was she knowledgeable and efficient, but she could also make you laugh, smile, and make herself very relatable. She performs her job with true compassion and joy. Chloe made sure that I felt included in my daughter‘s care, never making me feel rushed or uncomfortable. I encouraged Chloe to continue to be the phenomenal person that she is! You never know how much you truly impact a person‘s life for the better. That’s the beauty of nursing. You have the ability to really change someone’s life. Thank you, Chloe! You have a special place in our hearts.”

The second parent stated, “Chloe was our 8-month-old’s night nurse, and we honestly can't say enough. She was so understanding and kind, and she went above and beyond to help not only our daughter but us, too! She advocated for us from the moment she got on her shift. Our daughter felt comfortable around Chloe as well. Super sweet!”

The third parent stated,” Chloe did all the intake for my daughter. She listened to her complex medical history with true compassion and not only made mom feel seen, but also connected with my daughter. She made a point to talk directly to her, even though she’s only one year old. She made both of us feel heard and seen. She then allowed me to eat after 8 hours in the ER so I would be able to care for my daughter through the night. As someone who had been through a NICU stay and multiple admissions and ER visits – she’s the best RN and the most compassionate that we’ve ever experienced at CHKD. She went above and beyond her normal duties, and that is something I really appreciated as a parent to a sick child.”
