Chris is the Epitome of a thoroughly knowledgeable, professional and caring nurse! He was impressively well-versed in the specifics of my heart condition and took the time to explain it to me in terms I could understand as well as demonstrating what the pattern of my heart rhythm on my EKG looked like and what it meant by drawing it on the dry marker board in my patient room. From a patient perspective, a picture truly can be worth a thousand words.
It is quite clear Chris is passionate about his study of nursing and medicine because he has such a natural thirst for knowledge in his field. He was excited to see the "visible body" app I told him about that we have used in teaching community CPR classes and he shared with me some medical apps he has enjoyed. He obviously enjoys learning everything he can and because of this he can easily impart his considerable knowledge to his patients. Again, from a patient perspective it is very reassuring to know and understand what your condition is and what your options are. The fact that Chris took the time to better educate me about my situation and really answer my questions was exceedingly helpful and very much appreciated.
Chris is very professional in his demeanor because he pays attention to the details, yet still radiates a joy for what he does, so he is very pleasant to be around & brings sunshine in the room with him because he is truly happy to be able to help you. He helped relay the names of the specific doctors I was requesting. He helped me know how to get information I requested about my Chart. He always graciously answered all of my questions even when he had to go out of this way to do so.
There are two types of broad employees:
Those who just punch the clock to get their required job done and those who are what I call & think of as "Golden Employees," who go above and beyond the call of duty by leaps & bounds because they are truly passionate about what they do and sincerely care about making a positive and compassionate difference in the lives of the people they serve.
Chris is a great example of one of Christ's "Golden Employees" and of The Christ Hospitals' magnificent TPG Line "Caring above all" because he:
Cares to learn everything he can about his field
Cares to uphold the highest Professional standards, genuinely.
Cares about the health & reassurance of his patients.
For all of these things, I would like to nominate Chris for a bouquet of DAISY Awards because he is extraordinary on so many levels.
