Our long-term patient in room xx was refusing cares and medications today. Chris was FaceTiming to speak with the patient, given their history of good rapport. He then took it upon himself to come in on his day off to see the patient, brought him a McDonald’s fish fillet, and talked to the patient about his day and what had been going on to try to bridge the gap between the patient's wants and needs. Chris went above and beyond to make sure staff could give much-needed treatments to a very sick patient.
