Chris Postilgione, RN
While caring for a patient in the ED who had not had access to basic hygiene for quite some time, Chris went far beyond providing excellent medical care. She took the extra step to ensure the patient was able to shower, restoring not just comfort, but dignity during a vulnerable moment.
Her advocacy did not stop there. Noticing the patient’s worn-out shoes, she proactively reached out to a local business to ask if the store might have any gently used or returned footwear available. Thanks to her efforts, the patient received a new pair of shoes, and incredibly, the business was so moved that they donated additional pairs for SVH to provide to future patients in need.
This is a powerful example of what patient-centered care truly looks like. Chris’s empathy, resourcefulness, and dedication reflect the very best of our team and our mission.
