Chris was not only my wife's nurse, but she became my confidant, friend, thesaurus, dictionary, Web MD, and a huge emotional support for me
Everything was new and frightening and all I could do was watch her comatose body hopefully repair itself. Through this horrific nightmare Chris was there for my wife and I. Chris made sure my wife got her meds on time on the dot. She checked her vitals every single time she came in. Her job was to keep my wife comfortable, safe, and rested, and she did. Chris answered every question I had and explained it in a way I would understand. Every time she came into the room, she explained what she was going to do and why. Chris was my wife's voice when my wife didn’t have one.

When it came time to start to wean my wife off the ventilator and wake her up, Chris gave her the tough love and motherly assurance needed to help her through this frightening experience. After all, my wife didn’t know what had happened or what was going on. I looked forward to seeing Chris every day and was saddened when she had a day off. Chris was not only my wife's nurse, but she became my confidant, friend, thesaurus, dictionary, Web MD, and a huge emotional support for me! She was devoted to nursing my wife back to health, and her perseverance paid off! Truth be told, all the nurses in the ICU deserve recognition for their work, but Chris went above and beyond the norm for my wife, and we will forever be grateful for her! She deserves many DAISY Awards for how much she did for my wife! I cannot express how much gratitude I have for Chris!
