After being released from Mercy Hospital (after six days of IV antibiotics), my mother had a terrible sore throat.

I brought her back to the ER because she couldn’t eat or drink. She was admitted and found to have a UTI. No one addressed the sore throat, and they started her on more IV antibiotics for the UTI.

Chris discussed Mom’s sore throat and Mom’s inability to eat or drink due to her pain. I asked Chris what could be done. Chris suggested we try “magic mouth,” a “cocktail” of medications used for chemo patients. It worked!  For the first time in more than a week, my mom got relief and was able to eat after three doses of the solution.

Chris advocated for Mom with the doctor, and she got a prescription for the healing solution.  Because of Chris’ intervention, my 99-year-old Mom avoided a painful and potentially dangerous EGD (endoscopy) test to diagnose her sore throat.

I am so grateful that Mom got rid of her pain, avoided a potential risk, and is healed without extraneous tests. ALL THANKS to Chris—who listened, cared, called on her expertise, and went out of her way!

Chris has made a huge difference in Mom’s healing journey!  So grateful for Chris!!  Compassion and expertise!!

Thank you, Chris, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
