She is exemplary in leading the way through the most challenging times in the NICU with her twenty years of experience and service to the neonate population.
Christa Black is truly the definition of a compassionate leader. She is consistently accessible to her NICU team members and the families that walk through our doors at Good Samaritan Hospital. She is exemplary in leading the way through the most challenging times in the NICU with her twenty years of experience and service to the neonate population.

Throughout the COVID pandemic and high NICU acuity levels, Christa was the interim nurse manager of the Mother-Baby Unit. She led the MBU team the same way she's always led the NICU team, which is by being present and visible. She sets the tone for professionalism and is consistently thinking outside the box for safety and quality metrics. The turnover rate within nursing was not an exception for the NICU and during the most worrisome times, Christa remained positive and lead with true grace. She has spent countless evening and weekend hours at the bedside for her work family to provide the very best care.

There was a recent quote that I found which exemplifies Christa: "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." -John Quincy Adams

She is and always will be one of the very best nurse managers, leaders, and NICU patient advocates. We are truly so lucky to have her leadership here at TriHealth and she is a huge part of why our level 3 NICU remains the very best.
