Christa doesn't come to work just to get her work done. She comes at each shift wanting to make her patients feel supported, encouraged and cared for. She always makes her colleagues feel the same way. There was one day that a patient's port needed to be accessed in order to get IV fluids. The patient was particularly anxious about this. Christa's colleagues didn't feel totally comfortable with this procedure independently. Christa stayed after her shift was over to not only access the patient, but offered to teach her colleagues as well. She does things like this all the time with such kindness and compassion. She helps anxious kids feel at ease and literally never misses a beat to volunteer to help. I love watching the impact she makes on her patients. I wish I could nominate her 10 more times.
