Christi was my ICU nurse who cared for me immediately post-surgery. While she was engaged in providing excellent care for me, she demonstrated compassion and support for my wife and daughters. She allowed all three to visit me and encouraged them to speak to me while I was sedated, letting them know that I would hear them. She also gave them her cell phone number and encouraged them to call her any time during the night. As she promised, she called my wife as soon as I regained consciousness at 4:00 am and let me listen to her even though I was still intubated. She provided excellent medical care for me and consoled me when my emotions overwhelmed me, and I had a good cry. I had excellent care from all my nurses, but Christi stood out from them all and deserves this recognition. I thank God for placing her in my life.
