Nomination #1) If you don’t know Christian or haven't talked to him, you need to! Christian’s background is full of amazing experiences that sets a great foundation for his future nursing career. I always see him studying or working on his skills. He has great critical thinking skills and is able to think fast in situations. He makes a great ICU nurse! He did an amazing job putting together this year's brigade for MSOE Global Brigades to Panama. I can't wait to see all the amazing things he will do in his nursing career!
Nomination #2) Over the past three years I have known Chris to be a dedicated, compassionate, and intelligent nursing student, however, over this past year his leadership skills flourished. He successfully coordinated an international trip to Panama with 15 nursing students and 6 other members on the Global Brigades Medical Team. He set clear expectations to promote safety for all as well coordinated an incredible experience to provide health care services to members of various communities who are underserved in Panama. Chris was able to interact with infants, children, and adults to provide holistic care and also provided education regarding chronic illnesses such as Diabetes, Asthma, and Hypertension. The residents were incredibly grateful for his ability to deliver this care and education. During the research day on this trip, he engaged with the community and understood the importance of respecting their culture during all interactions. He was able to establish trust and rapport as he spoke with the members to assess their needs. He also ensured that all members of his medical team were respectful of the culture of the residents. Chris is incredibly bright and an inspiration to all of his peers. He will be an amazing new graduate nurse and I am proud that he is representing MSOE when he enters the workforce this May. Best of luck to you Chris!
