Having worked alongside Christian in the ICU, I can say that he takes ownership of his work and prides himself in always putting one hundred percent effort towards being the best nurse possible. He actively practices critical thinking and is able to multitask while providing the best, evidence-based care to his patients. He values the patient experience and goes above and beyond to meet patient expectations. He views new situations and unstable patients as challenges and learning opportunities. He is able to prioritize, keep problems in perspective and is a proven performer.
As a team player, Christian helps his co-workers readily with admissions, transfers, patient mobility and activities of daily living. He is a strong contributor to our unit's success and makes valuable contributions by placing the team agenda over his personal needs. He consults effectively with the interdisciplinary team and shares the responsibilities for the unit with everyone.
Christian is resourceful and ambitious, yet he is open minded and displays a great love for life and learning. Now he pays it forward by teaching and mentoring new ICU nurses. It has been wonderful to see him flourish as a critical care nurse while remaining humble, honest and professional. I believe his true strength lies in being able to strike the exact balance between being kind and caring towards his patients, while also exhibiting expert nursing judgment and the ability to act skillfully in times of crisis. He stands out amongst his peers as a bright, diligent, empathetic and capable nurse.
