Christie Garber, RN

Christie was recently recognized by an Anticoagulation patient for her kindness, knowledge, and most importantly, her caring heart. The patient recently stopped Warfarin due to plan of care changes but made one last appointment to be checked. During this time, the patient confided in Christie that he recently lost his brother and was not handling the situation well. Christie pulled her mask down so the patient could see the care and grief on her face as she supported him. She was the listening ears that he needed. When talking to Christie about this particular patient, her face lit up, and she knew she would always be in for a laugh. While Christie has been with the H&V office for roughly 5 years, she has really come into her own in the last 2. She makes lasting relationships with her patients, who often ask for her by name. Her knowledge has expanded as she has become the "seasoned" cardiovascular nurse helping the new staff, PSRs, MAs, & RNs in any way they need. Christie is dependable, and we never have to worry if her work is getting completed and in a timely fashion. I am proud and honored to have Christie on our team.
