Christina takes time with me and is so kind and treats me like a human.
Christina cared for my husband during his stay at Hickman Hospital. He is a very impatient and sometimes difficult patient to care for. Christina was very kind and willing to work with him. When she brought him his meds, he would ask her questions like, “why am I taking this and what is this for?” She stopped and explained everything to him. He said to me, “She is so outstanding!” Never has he said this about another nurse. He said, “She takes time with me and is so kind and treats me like a human.” He kept climbing out of the bed and the bed alarm would go off. Christina would come in with a beautiful smile and very kind voice and explained to him why he needed to push the button for help instead of climbing out of the bed. My husband would listen to her. Christina had a way about her that calmed him down instantly. He said to me on the way home when discharged, “If all the nurses treated me like Christina did, I wouldn’t mind the hospital stays at all.” Christina asked him several times if he needed anything. If she left the room and told him she would be right back, she did so. She checked on him constantly and that meant so much to him. I really admired Christina for the care that she gave to him. Christina is such a loving, caring person and is so kind. She always greeted us with a smile and a “what can I do to help you?” She would make you feel so special. I think this young lady deserves recognition.
