Nurse Christina has been with us from the very beginning. The very first night, she had concern for my husband, just by looking at him. She was concerned about his breathing, so, without me saying anything, she began calling the doctor and the respiratory department and got him set up for breathing treatments. On Wednesday and Thursday nights, the hardest time I had with my husband was when he became non-compliant with what I was saying. He began hallucinating, pulling off his clothes, and taking off his oxygen. Christina came in and could see how frustrated I was. She asked me to have a seat, then reassured me she would handle it for me. She did just what she said. But what I want to say is she handled this in a way that never broke her character as a nurse caring for her patient. She was kind, gentle, compassionate, and patient with him. This happened the next night also. When he started, I just called for her, and she took great care of him. On Saturday, she came in and stated that while she was doing her homework, my husband came to her mind about a medication he was on. She wanted to explain some of the side effects and that it could be one of the causes. Nurse Christine is a positive, compassionate, caring, and understanding nurse who cares for both her patients and their families.
