Watching Christina care for one of the trauma surgical patients the past few months has been truly inspiring. She is a gift to this patient and her family and has gone over and above to make this very ill woman comfortable. Christina has treated her as if she were her best friend or daughter. In addition to fearlessly advocating for her care, Christina is so kind and gentle to this fragile family. She has shaved this patient's head when she had lice, painted her nails, taken her to the Healing Garden, and has made an uncomfortable hospital room feel like home to the patient and her young daughters.
There is no one more deserving of this award than Christina. She has given her heart and soul to provide exceptional care for this patient. She knows the ins and outs of this complex case and can pick up on even the most subtle, minute changes. To be witness to the care she provides will bring you to tears. I am humbled to be witness to her compassion for the past three months.
