I went into labor extremely quickly and was unable to make it to my planned hospital. I was forced to stop at HCA Conroe, a situation that initially felt overwhelming, yet it became one of the greatest blessings of my birth experience because of an extraordinary nurse named Chris.

From the moment I was brought into my room, Chris immediately jumped into action. She promised she would take care of me no matter what. Less than 20 minutes later, everything escalated rapidly. I was laid out on the floor, losing a significant amount of blood, progressing so quickly that there was no time for an epidural. My baby was coming fast, with the umbilical cord wrapped around my baby’s neck, and the physician could not arrive in time.

Under incredibly intense and high-risk circumstances, Chris remained calm, confident, and focused. She delivered my baby without a doctor present, all while keeping me calm and reassured. She continuously reminded me that I was doing great, even in the middle of fear and uncertainty. At no point did she panic; she treated me with the utmost respect, professionalism, and compassion.

What stood out even more was her continued care after birth. Despite working on New Year’s Eve, she made the effort to come check on me later in my postpartum suite, ensuring both my baby and I were doing well.

Being forced to stop at what I thought was “the wrong hospital” turned out to be a true gift. Chris’s quick thinking, clinical skill, and heartfelt compassion not only helped safely bring my son into the world, but also made an incredibly traumatic situation feel supported, peaceful, and safe. I will forever be grateful for her.

Thank you, Christina, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
