She made an immeasurable difference.
My grandfather, who is a veteran, has gotten very ill over the past several months. During one of his appointments, he was so sick that he could not even get out of the car. He had no strength at all!

But nurse Christina helped us lift him up and put him in his wheelchair! She took very good care of him.

My 91-year-old father (now deceased) was a regular at the VA clinic in Oakhurst, CA for many years. On the visits I drove him to, I could count on him being greeted by Nurse Christina. Her smile and pleasant manner made Dad smile, regardless of how he felt physically.

While all staff members were respectful and courteous, Christina went beyond, even joking to make Dad laugh.

Dad's decline was slow until early 2025 when things escalated. Between January and July, he experienced four hospital stays. This meant many visits to our local Oakhurst clinic. Christina was always there, showing kindness and respect to Dad and all family members.

Even when he lost his bowel on the way to scheduled visits, Christina stayed cheerful as she showered and changed him, even providing clean clothing. Christina has the patience of Job, never becoming irritated by having to practically yell due to my father's profound hearing loss or snail pace when walking to an exam room.

What impressed me most about Christina Christianson was her calls to check on Dad - and me - during this trying time.

She cried hearing of his passing because she truly, truly cares.

She made an immeasurable difference.
