My wife was in the hospital on ECMO life support awaiting a double lung transplant for five months, sadly she did not make it and passed away. I stayed there with her the entire time and the entire staff, doctors, nurses, receptionists, housekeepers, etc., all became like family to us. But Christina stood out above all the rest; she pampered my wide and made her feel special all the time, always there with encouragement, information and/or just a smile to brighten my wife's day.
Christina was even there when my wife passed away supporting me in my darkest hour and made the trip to attend my wife's funeral. I still hear from her just to see how I am holding up almost daily. If this is not a testament to love, compassion, and nursing excellence, then I don't know what is. If I could I would nominate the entire CVICU if I could. Thank you!
