She was not only able to calm the patient and family, but she was persistent, respectable, and firm in trying to get the patient scheduled for the colonoscopy.
Tina is the best nurse I have encountered in my ten years of health care. She exhibits such compassion and care for her patients, and she frequently goes above and beyond for our patients.

We recently had a patient scheduled for a very necessary colonoscopy after discharge from the hospital. The wife was concerned because she hadn’t received his prep. Tina called the GI office, same day surgery, and the unit which he was discharged from, and it turns out that patient was not scheduled for said colonoscopy as was written on the discharge instructions. The family and the patient were very upset, fearing that not getting this colonoscopy could be fatal for the patient. She was not only able to calm the patient and family, but she was persistent, respectable, and firm in trying to get the patient scheduled for the colonoscopy. It took her days and many phone calls, but she was able to get an appt with the GI doctor and ultimately got the procedure scheduled as soon as possible.

The family and the patient were so very thankful for her and all that she had done. This is just one of many examples of how Tina is such an advocate for her patients, has such a sense of compassion that is deeply rooted in her, is respected by her co-workers, is loved by her patients, and is deserving of such recognition.
