Christina raised the morale on the unit that night and every night since.
Since COVID started, our patient load has fluctuated... Night shift resources are fewer compared to the day shift. Christina was one of our “new” nurses who was always helping out and with enthusiasm. One night, we were getting slammed with admissions. We were short staffed, had no PCT on the floor, and told the nurses they might get more than one admit. Christina got the nurses together and said, “OK guys, we are going to do team nursing.” She got everyone to take part in helping each bedside RN with their admissions; no one was overwhelmed, everyone was able to get their work done and leave in the morning with a smile on their face. Christina raised the morale on the unit that night and every night since. She is by every sense of the word “extraordinary”. She puts her patients first and takes pride in a job well done. I am honored to work with Christina on the night shift.
