I nominate Chris Howard for the DAISY Award. She goes above and beyond to ensure that her patients and staff are genuinely looked after and cared for. Her compassion for her staff, only trickles down to the patients and the care they receive. She leads by example, she is here day and night to support quality patient care, as well as support for her staff. She demonstrates accountability and at times shares her own mistakes so as to prevent issues from ever happening again by spreading her experience with her team and peers. She continually pursues what is right for her patients and team, a true servant leader. Night, day, weekends, she is always positive and professional. I nominate Chris because the impact she has on her team and patient care is exemplary, and it is very apparent in listening to her team, and if I could go back to my first years in a leadership role, I would want to be like Chris Howard, and mirror her passion for leading team and most importantly her true dedication to quality patient care.
