All patients, not just me, are treated with such precise care and genuine service that “home” is how one feels when sitting there for hours.
As a patient, it is always hard to go to a hospital weekly with a life-threatening illness. Home is where you most often feel safe with your family surrounding you. As I have had to go to Jewish Hospital for blood infusions for several months now, that is how I feel when I walk (yes, I walk now) into the infusion center greeted by nurses who have become family since the day I first arrived. This area is run by a charge nurse named Tina Campbell. She is a true “God Send”. I do not use that term loosely. Her unit is run with efficiency, excellence, and a staff that not only adores her but is willing to help each other without a moment’s hesitation. All patients, not just me, are treated with such precise care and genuine service that “home” is how one feels when sitting there for hours. Tina herself is always smiling even under the stress of full capacity daily. Her staff respect her and there is a friendship that shows through even with the professionalism that she conducts. I wish I were more fluent in writing where I could convey truly extraordinary because I have been blessed to be cared for by Tina and her exceptional and loving staff.
