We had a patient on our unit recently who was hospitalized here for more than two months. He was very sick and required very complex care. Chrissy formed a bond with this patient which decreased his anxiety level greatly and encouraged him to keep fighting.
Chrissy cared for this very difficult patient for several weeks and even visited him on her days off to encourage him to keep moving and improving. He would back-slide on days that Chrissy was not working.
Chrissy provided not just skilled care but crucial emotional support as well. I am fortunate to work with such a wonderful nurse! Kudos, Chrissy!
