It is a privilege to learn from her and to know that I’m a part of a unit with someone who fiercely has our backs.
Christina has a passion for patient-centered care, and her patients are lucky to have her. She has taken that passion she has for her patients and learned how to spread the wealth by joining the education department as the IMCU educator and helping us all learn how to provide that level of care at the bedside.
Christina’s passion for education shows in her routine education for the staff, which is always thorough, evidence-based, and well-researched within Piedmont Policy. She continuously keeps us current and up to date with any changes throughout the system, big or small, but she also works hard to boost morale in the unit and goes beyond her education to show her love for the staff of the IMCU.
Christina is a role model to many, and she continues with hours at the bedside to keep up with her critical nursing skills and to continue a hands-on approach to identify what areas of education are important. She is kind, fair, and approachable. You can go to Christina with just about any questions or crazy idea, and she puts time and thought into it, and if she likes it, she’s right on the crazy train with you.
I have watched Christina work tirelessly to influence policy and practice changes at Piedmont to better not only patient care, but workflow for the nurses on our unit. She has joined several committees hospital-wide, hoping to find more education she can provide for our unit, or more areas she can influence to help better patient care processes.
Everyone gains something through conversation with Christina. She remains humble to also gains something from her conversations with all staff members. It is a privilege to learn from her and to know that I’m a part of a unit with someone who fiercely has our backs.
