Through my wife's stay, all the nursing staff have amazed me with their caring and support. Everyone deserves praise. Christina, however, deserves something special - because she, herself, is very special. Her positive attitude, warm smile, and the love that she showed my wife and my family was incredible. She went way beyond the norm to make sure we were taken care of. I happened to overhear a small part of a conversation she was having with a doctor while arguing to keep my wife in the hospital over the weekend. Thankfully, the doctor agreed to keep her in and it's a good thing because she had more a-fib attacks.
*****
Christina cared for my mother when she was transferred from the surgical unit to the PCC unit. Christina is patient, caring, gentle, and a wonderful patient advocate. When one of the doctors wanted to send my mom off to the rehab facility right after putting her on new a-fib medication, Christina disagreed with him. My mother ended up in ICU a few days later. I cannot say how much it means to our family that she advocated for my mother. After my mother made it out of ICU and back into the PCC unit, Christina was there and so happy to see her. She is such a genuine, loving person. I feel your hospital is so lucky to have such an amazing employee. These are the reasons I feel Christina deserves the DAISY Award.
*****
Christina went above and beyond for our family and grandmother. Every time something happened, she was there to check on her and also check on all of us. We went through a very rough road with my grandma and I always had peace of mind when Christina was there. She advocated for her and took the time to explain things to us. She visited us in the ICU. Christina cares and is a WONDERFUL nurse who is amazing at her job and great with people. Her compassion is immeasurable. More nurses need to be like her!
