I'm writing on behalf of the excellent IV nurse, Christina Murphy, who, luckily for me, supervised my IV therapy from start to finish while I was under treatment for a major infection. I was the luckiest patient at Valley Home Care when Christina was assigned to my case upon my discharge from the hospital. During the six weeks of care, I received impeccable care from Nurse Christina. She gave me 100% of confidence in her ability to perform the long list of responsibilities assigned to her. She followed requests about entering and leaving our home because I began treatment as a very disabled, barely ambulatory patient. Christina left no stone unturned in her IV lessons. To say she is patient is not saying enough. You never get the feeling that she is gritting her teeth and putting up with something. She never acts frustrated or bored. She is the most caring and attentive nurse I've ever met. Moreover, I have the impression that she treats every patient with kindness and thoughtfulness. She really truly cares. I was sorry to her go. Watching her drive away, I found myself wishing that all of her patients would treat her as well as she treats them. I felt safe in her hands. How lucky for patients like me, who've experienced the best that nursing has to offer: a kind touch, a purposeful glance, a soft word from a kind soul.
