Chrissy Nester is deserving of this award because of the dedication she shows to her peers, to this institution, but most of all her patients. All the nurses are amazing in our unit, but Chrissy stood out for me when she took care of a patient that didn't have a voice and she became his voice. She advocated for him day after day and cared for him in a way that no one else would have. On her weekend off, she spent time researching how she could take better care of him and his unique condition.
Chrissy is one of the most compassionate caregivers I have ever had the opportunity to work with. She leads by example with her concerns about patient safety and is always the first person to offer help when you are in need.
