This is the first student I have had that I did not feel slowed down, and I feel like she knows what she is doing. It was great having Christina in my unit.
Christina was nominated by two different patients, a family member of a different patient, and a nurse who was working alongside Christina in her student role. The following are statements submitted:
Christina was very attentive. She constantly checked in on my husband. She also read every medication he was taking and explained every medication and what the medicine was for. She was very consistent with care.
***
This young lady did an amazing job on my IV. She is super friendly and made me feel so comfortable. I hope all my future nurses have her spirit and attitude.
***
Mrs. Christina above was not only polite but also very knowledgeable about all the questions I had and very patient with my ignorance about certain things, so I appreciated her candor!
***
Christina was one of the best students I had in a while. She did a medication pass and was very knowledgeable on the medications. And if she didn’t know the medication, she immediately pulled out her drug guide to make sure she was checking the correct assessments that needed to be done for the medication. Christina did not slow me down. She was doing all of my blood sugar and insulin injections. She checked the dosage for insulin well over three times to be 100% sure she had the correct dose. I know that she knows safety is key! All of my patients loved her attitude. She has a big smile, talks with the patients, states the medications when doing her medication pass, and tells the patient what the medication is used for. Any questions the patients may have had, she did not even hesitate to give the correct answer to their questions. This is the first student I have had that I did not feel slowed down, and I feel like she knows what she is doing. It was great having Christina in my unit. I know she will do amazing things as a nurse.
