Christina is an exemplary nurse and role model in all areas of her nursing practice. Christina’s patients call her a “gift from God” and an “Angel of Mercy”. She is competent, kind and takes the time to know her patients. Once patient wrote, “You can talk to her about something that is bothering you and you know she is listening because she takes care of it. She does little things for you to make you feel better and safe”. Christina purchased a teddy bear for a frightened patient who was facing open heart surgery alone. Another patient appreciated the phone call Christina made on her day off to check up on her as well as her husband who was having cancer surgery. In a discharge call, a patient acknowledged Christina’s ever pleasant nature and professionalism despite “my very grumpy behavior”.

Christina’s patients agree that she is warm, friendly and works hard to meet the needs “medically, emotionally and spiritually”. The team on 3-North are fortunate to have Christina Schlaps as a member of their team.
