Christina is an exceptional RN. My husband is a hard stick and receives infusions three times a week. Christina is so gentle with my husband. 95% of the time, he doesn't even feel the needle enter his arm.
Her beautiful smile makes him so happy. Her sense of humor makes his day. She has such a warm-hearted nature. She answers all of our questions and guides us to the correct person who can assist in whatever his needs may be at the time.
Given that his primary care physician is located in Tucson, we receive the majority of our advice from Northern Cochise Community Hospital. Christina has never steered us in the wrong direction.
He also has Parkinson's disease and started physical therapy. That has done wonders for him. If it weren't for Christina, he never would have reconsidered returning. The physical therapist in Tucson said that there wasn't anything more that they could do for him until he got out of the wheelchair. So, he was giving up.
My husband was authorized for 10 visits of PT right here in Willcox, and today they have him using a walker again. I see a considerable change in his strength. He's getting stronger every day. We still use a gait belt to support his body, but he's up and walking once again. I really didn't see that coming. His neurologist told him that she didn't know if he would ever walk again.
I know that Christina had confidence in him, and he's back in the game again.
Christina let us know that we don't have to drive to Tucson for his labs, that we could get them done here in Willcox with an order from his doctor. That we could have his primary care doctor place a standing order to check his urine for possible urinary tract infections every other week due to incontinence and using catheter bags. Saving us a trip to Tucson, a 277-mile drive up and back, is greatly appreciated.
She mentioned that we can inquire about having them place a PICC so that we could give his arms a rest because of the frequent visits, so that's in the works.
I can't tell you enough how much we appreciate all that she does for us. We're asking that you praise Christina for a job well done.
Thank you so much, Christina, for caring.
