A few weeks ago, I went to AdventHealth Clermont and brought my grandson. I had a great visit and experience all due to Christine. I must say one of the best ERs in my opinion. Let me first start this by saying I should have sent this two years ago when I had the pleasure of having Christine as my nurse at Winter Garden. I came in with a lupus flair-up and was immediately brought back with my husband and family. Christine was my nurse, and I will never forget her kindness. I am not an easy patient being retired law enforcement, I expect that you just do your job and to fix things. Christine had a way about her, kind eyes and attitude. She was chatty and I was not wanting to chat, but she sat and listened to my concerns and complaints. But what impressed me was as she started my IV and I laid there quiet, she talked to my grandson as I'm sure his eyes were wide as a kite. She told him what she was doing. She talked about her boys and Legos, which he loved, and school. As I listened to them, I knew God had placed this incredibly caring person in my room for a reason. It wasn't until I heard a nurse ask her a question that I realized she was in charge. I said to her, "you are in charge and taking way too much time in here." She squeezed my hand, smiled, and told me that I was the most important person right now and she was going to help me get better. I honestly never forgot that simple act of kindness. When we came to Clermont, Christine came to bring us to a room. I immediately knew her. After I refreshed her memory, she hugged me and brought us back. I asked if she was in charge, and she said with a smile, "kind of the manager now." She told me about her wonderful ER and raved about the nurses. So, whoever hired her-Thank you!!! It is crazy that years later, we run into this angel. It is a testament to who you hire at AdventHealth. She genuinely cares from the heart. She calmed my grandson as a patient, and when he saw me not at my best, she cared enough to take the time. You should be proud to have nurses like this. She walked us out, and I saw on the wall to Extend the healing of Christ...that is what your hospital is built on, and what a true representation this is in Christine. Thank her again. God always puts the right people in your life just at the right time. I know Christine was meant to be with us not once but twice. We will forever be grateful for your hospital and the doctors and nurses. But Christine has truly touched our hearts and lives with such genuine care and love from the heart. She truly deserves to be recognized for her care and compassion. Thank you!
