November 2023 Honoree
Christine Frank, Registered Midwife
I'm nominating Christine for The DAISY Award due to her exceptional care during my challenging pregnancy and childbirth. At 30 weeks into my pregnancy, I transferred to QCCH after a traumatic first birth experience. Christine's support was outstanding. She thoroughly reviewed my medical history and provided a constructive debrief on my previous birth, giving me assurance and a plan. Christine's unwavering support continued throughout my pregnancy, helping me make crucial decisions.
When I unexpectedly went into labour at the Birth Centre, Christine's presence filled me with happiness. Throughout a challenging 16-hour labour, she acted as a doula, guardian angel, and cheerleader. Christine made me feel like my birth was her top priority, ensuring I left with a healthy baby and a positive birth experience. She also helped me transform my feelings about my first birth. Christine's strength, kindness, and care were truly exceptional, allowing me to enjoy the postpartum period without the burden of PTSD and healing. I believe Christine deserves The DAISY Award more than anyone. Please honour her for her outstanding support.
