We are tired and burnt out but have stayed as a team through it all. This morning, Christine didn’t lose her compassion as she sat with a COVID positive patient in a boiling room, suffocating in the PPE to be able to hold his hand so he didn’t die alone. This patient’s family could not be with him at MetroHealth because they were all COVID positive too. No one should have to die alone – things like this remind me why I’m still practicing – teamwork is why I come back!
