... Christy really impressed my family and me when she cared for my aunt. Unfortunately, my aunt passed away on 4 West in the early morning at the end of March during resuscitation attempts. She was a very special woman who appreciated all the help provided to her while she was a patient here at Meritus Medical Center. My family was deeply touched that Christy cried with all of us when my aunt passed. I really admire Christy's openness and willingness to grieve with my family during that time.
As nurses, we witness a lot of sad situations and unfortunately, there are times when our patients pass away. It is easy to become immune to those sad situations when we are faced with death and dying on a regular basis while working in an acute care setting. I was really touched that even working on a critical care unit, Christy still grieved the loss of her patient. It really speaks volumes about the type of care Christy provides to her patients.
My family and I lost a very special woman that morning and I'm so thankful that Christy was able to be her nurse for those last few hours. Christy provided excellent care for my aunt and for that, I am very appreciative and thankful to her.
