Christine Kuhlman always takes an individual interest in our mental health patients. She goes above and beyond her required duties and has a true and genuine commitment to serving the mentally ill. She recently had a patient who was passionately requesting her purse but did not have her own purse available. Chris brought in two pink purses for the patient to have and she was overjoyed with the new handbags. The patient was jumping up and down and was so contented with having a purse she was able to focus on therapy and other concerns to improve her health status.
Chris also takes an active role in supporting new staff and makes it a point to explain the "why" behind the procedures and routines. She has also worked on numerous projects to improve both the working environment and the quality of care provided for the patients. Chris exemplifies the calm, nurturing, and professional nurse role and maintains a high standard of compassion, understanding, and proficiency which provides not only the very best care to the patient but also elevates the standard for the staff.
