Christine was Dad's day nurse the 1st day he was in the hospital. She has excellent nursing skills and is very competent. Just as important, she put us at ease with her great manner. One of the first things she did was to get Dad properly dressed in a hospital gown and clean his face, hands and arms of the blood left on them from his fall and the procedures in the ER the night before. This made us all feel much better. She reassured us that in spite of his dire condition, he was stable for the time being so that my sisters could make the trip to get here without the panic of fearing they would not arrive in time to see him alive.
Christine always treated our dad with dignity and kindness, and told him what she was doing for him and why, even if he (probably) could not hear her (being unconscious). When Dad died two days later, Christine came in on her day off to see us and offered her sympathy and condolences. She went above and beyond our expectations in her nursing care of Dad and her support of us, and gave us comfort and a steady hand when we needed it.
