I noticed in my coloring book Chris left a little note. It said how proud she was of me for seeking help.
When I got to the PRC in July, the first week was rough. The days were very emotionally charged. She was there anytime I needed a hug or someone to talk to. I felt safe and trusted her. Two weeks into the program I had a rough weekend. I was having suicidal ideations. As soon as I saw her Monday morning, I talked to her about how I was feeling low. She comforted me by telling me how proud she was of me. Then she got coloring crayons/markers out as she knows coloring is a coping skill for me. While I waited for an evaluation, she colored with me and listened to music. She stayed with me for hours until it was determined I needed to go inpatient. She then walked with me to the ER and left all the coloring with me. The next day I was very anxious. So, I got my coloring out that she gave me. I noticed in my coloring book she left a little note. It said how proud she was of me for seeking help. It helped me find joy and know that I would be ok. When I got out Wednesday, I got my phone, and she had left me a voice mail. It was directed for when I was released specifically. She stated how strong I am and how proud I made her for seeking help as well as how she was thinking of me. If it wasn't for all the little things she did before that Monday, I don't know if I would have made the decision to get help. She truly is one of a kind, and she means the world to me. Thank you, Chris, you are truly a gift from God.
