I feel so lucky to have worked with Christine. I'm currently a second semester nursing student at VCU. I am in my L&D rotation and she gave me the best experience I could have asked for.
When I met her early that morning, she had two labor patients and I am sure that she probably wasn't really thrilled about having a student with her, but by the end of the day, we were laughing about how she almost sent me away.
She is so passionate about providing the best nursing care possible for her patients. In the short time that I was able to spend with her, I learned so much about what kind of nurse I want to be after graduation. We spent the day with a laboring patient and she went above and beyond to advocate for her and her baby's best interest.
She was kind, caring, personable, and guided her patient through labor like a pro.
As a student, it is so special to leave a clinical day feeling like you have truly found your calling and Christine gave me that feeling about Labor and Delivery. While the rest of my clinical group left the unit around 2 o'clock I stuck around until dinner time to see our patient through to delivery.
Christine Montgomery's compassion is contagious.
Thanks a million, Christine!!
