January 2023 Honoree
Christine Otterstein, LPN
Christine was training a Nurse, and to my surprise, the training Nurse Christine not only gave verbal instructions, but she also engaged in the training hands-on. During the patient training, she demonstrated the importance of detailed observation in finding bed sores, even in my ear lobe, armpits, and under belly roll. She practiced what she preached and followed up with turnover—covering the many new issues that caused my return to the hospital for treatment. The staff, in general, performed a 5-star rating. I'm sure Christine is responsible in part.... for that 5-star rating. I would be happy to have Christine as a Nurse caring for me or anyone that she trained under her watchful eye. I will close by saying she is "the best Nurse" I have ever had caring for me.
Thank you, Christine, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
