She cared for me and treated me as a person, a woman, a Mom, at undoubtedly the scariest juncture of my life.
After a cancer diagnosis, Christine began to take my history and information, very thoroughly and calmly, and in turn calmed me down a lot. That was just the beginning of a window into her professionalism and the compassionate care she provided while I was in the hospital. While I had other very good nurses, Christine executed her clinical responsibilities in such a comfortable and caring way, always making me feel like I was her priority. My comfort, understanding of what was going on, and clinical care always seemed to be her focus each time she came into my room. Christine went above and beyond just caring for me as a patient, which I feel was the most important aspect of my stay there. She cared for me and treated me as a person, a woman, a Mom, at undoubtedly the scariest juncture of my life. These skills are innate to her and what makes her an amazing nurse-skills they can’t teach in nursing school for sure. While they may be facing the most challenging medical diagnosis and/or treatment, any patient who has the fortune to be under the care of Christine Powers will definitely receive the utmost in professional and compassionate nursing care at Mt. Auburn Hospital.
