Christine is a shining example of teamwork and selflessness for the team. She helps wherever is needed, including picking up shifts, and helps in the ER when not on transports. Christine was present when a trauma came into the ER and used her extensive trauma experience to assist in procedures that the staff was not as experienced in, resulting in a good outcome for the patient. Christine continued her care on transport to St. Mary's and made sure the patient was comfortable, and the accompanying family member was always up to date on the plan of care. Christine even spoke to the patient's wife over the phone extensively to ensure that she was assured the patient was in good hands. Christine is also assisting with education and orientation for our department and has made it her mission to ensure our program has the most competent and confident employees. As an example, she made a course on ventilator management for any paramedics and EMTs who expressed interest in learning more about the ventilator, a skill that is not usually taught in medical school. It is my honor to nominate Christine for the DAISY Award. She is an asset to this hospital and to this team.
