A patient wrote: I really was having a horrific day. I found out I had a heart condition, stomach issues, blood clots and my personal life was off the hook. I was about to flip out because I am homeless with two disabled children and my husband is divorcing me. My mother pasted away 18 months ago. I have lost everything and was about to give up but Christy reassured me that the world is a bit overwhelming but everything will be okay. She only wanted me to get well and she told me I am a survivor. I love that she took time for me. It may not have been important to anyone else but she cared. She showed compassion and really listened to me. She is a true “NURSE”. The definition of “nurse” should have her name beside it. She is AWESOME!

Christy Schellhaas is the only nurse I know who can make a home-cooked meal from scratch for her family then come into work with every hair on her head perfect, her uniform pressed and work a full 12 hour shift without complaining. She smiles the whole night! Even when she is stressed out, she doesn’t show it. She just keeps her warm and cheerful smile. She is dedicated to patient care.

Christy goes above and beyond for her patients. She makes sure the patients’ needs are met before taking a break. She asks for help from PCT’s when needed which makes me feel like the work I do is important not only to the patient but to her as a nurse.
