She was so patient, encouraging, energetic, positive, kind, reassuring, great at listening, responding with grace, and so much more.
My wife and I were sent over to labor and delivery for some labs after an appointment at Hattiesburg clinic. The labs revealed pre-eclampsia, and her blood pressure was reaching the severe range. We are from out of town and have two kids back home, and were not prepared physically or emotionally to be staying the night suddenly. We have actually been here since. That night they began increasing her BP meds, she was dealing with a severe headache, they had to administer IV meds due to severity of BP, talks were had about delivery, and the following morning a 24 hr magnesium drip was started. It was a whirlwind of no sleep, high emotions, etc. She was unable to remain still long in bed or get comfortable and had to repeatedly make trips to the restroom. To put it simply, we were very high maintenance that night and into the morning, and in need of someone special. That someone special was Christine, the nurse assigned to us from our arrival until shortly after the mag drip was started.

She was so patient, encouraging, energetic, positive, kind, reassuring, great at listening, responding with grace, and so much more. She was everything we needed in a nurse that night. She demonstrated she is one of a kind. As a high school principal who oversees a thousand people daily, I know what phenomenal looks like, and it looks like Christene. She is everything you would want when hiring a nurse and more. Since then, as I stated, we have been at the hospital. We have interacted with countless other nurses and staff, all of whom have been great, but there has only been one Christene. Last night, she was back at work after her vacation and made a special point of coming to check on us and spending a brief time with us, continuing to shine in an exemplary manner. My wife and I have talked about her several times over our stay and how thankful we were to have her on our first night, when we were in our most need. She is beyond deserving of special recognition and must stay - you have a real winner in her.
