It is with great enthusiasm and respect that I nominate Christine Toledo for the Daisy Award in recognition of her exceptional dedication as a nurse educator, role model, and overall great person.
Christine embodies the very essence of an excellent educator through her commitment to student success. One day, when I was going to visit Christine to celebrate a publication we wrote together, she notified me that we would have to go after her extra study session. She goes above and beyond her teaching responsibilities, working outside of scheduled class time, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to fully grasp complex nursing concepts.
I arrived early and saw first-hand the extra work she did. These sessions are thoughtfully structured and focused on reducing student anxiety while strengthening confidence. Christine’s willingness to sacrifice her time reflects her genuine care for her students and her belief that every learner deserves individualized support. This session was wellattended by students.
In the classroom, Christine teaches with authentic presence and a sense of humor that immediately puts students at ease. She creates an environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and actively engage in learning.
