We felt compelled to write it as we had never seen such care given to someone in their final days. We will never forget Christine, a nurse from the 8th floor at UPMC Mercy. She went completely above and beyond to see that my father-in-law was well taken care of during the time before his passing. This was such an enormous comfort to him and us as his family. She saw that his pain and breathing were tended to, she changed his bedding to freshen him up, she did oral care several times, and she remained so compassionate to all of us at the same time. She stood head and shoulders above everyone else that we encountered. She’s an absolutely phenomenal nurse! We would like to thank her and show our gratitude. We were so lucky to have her as our nurse, and you are lucky to have her at your wonderful hospital. Sadly, my father-in-law passed away, but the thoughts of Christine’s care during his final moments bring us so much peace.
