I am a security officer at Trinity Hospital in Rock Island. On a very cold and windy night this past January I found myself outside in the hospital parking lot on a prolonged detail. I eventually made it inside to warmth, but hypothermia still seemed to set in because I lost consciousness and fell to the floor. Fortunately Nurse Christine Wexell was nearby. She summoned emergency room staff and then got a gurney and helped load me onto it. Though she had clocked out prior to my plight, she stayed to assist and monitor my condition. I am indebted to her for her quick response.
I am not the only one that has benefited from her skill, compassion and empathy. I often witness first hand her expertise as she cares for patients in the emergency room. Christine Wexell is a positive influence on other staff members and a true asset to Trinity Hospital.
