Do you know how comforting it is in a moment like that when someone takes the briefest moments to reassure you that they have your back?
I would like to take the time to tell you about the absolute most outstanding individual working for you. I met Chris as a patient six to seven years ago. I was on the verge of having a heart attack and the team in my room was nothing less than impressive. People taking x-rays, drawing blood, EKGs, inserting IVs, and probably much more than what I can remember now. My heart raced 270 beats per minute, and the team was all doing their part to get me into a normal rhythm. I recall looking into the eyes of a woman and asking her if I was going to die. She looked at me very calmly and told me that they had my back. Do you know how comforting it is in a moment like that when someone takes the briefest moments to reassure you that they have your back? There was no excitement in her voice, just a very calm and soothing tone with an air of confidence.
I was back in your hospital yesterday and had the absolute pleasure of seeing Chris again. Though my present condition was in no way near the threat of eminent death, it was so wonderfully comforting to see her presence grace your hallways once again. She has to be the most consistent person I have ever known in your employ. She never seems to have a bad day. Always positive and that kind of pervasive attitude uplifts not only your patients but the rest of the staff as well. She sets the bar high and raises everyone’s standards. People like her exemplify the esprit decor that all of your staff should aspire to become. She represents your organization with this enthusiasm daily. She always delivers her A game. I hope that you recognize what a wonderful asset and professional person you have working for you.
Too often, we (myself included) can be overly critical of services rendered. It’s because of this that it’s eminently necessary to point out those who transcend their job description. She shines so brightly every day. Please go out of your way to recognize this outstanding individual.
