A patient was admitted to have open heart surgery and was transferred to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit immediately following surgery. In the SICU Chris cared for this patient over the course of several days. The patient's family says "The care Chris gives is the BEST I have ever seen! His care and compassion for his patients is superior. I am glad my husband had him as his nurse. Chris took a very trying situation and made it tolerable for my husband and our family."

Chris is a true asset to the SICU! He provides excellent care to our critically ill patient population. Chris is a patient advocate; he is frequently seen sitting down at the bedside talking to his patients and their families. Chris is always available to help his nursing peers and the unit as a whole. These qualities make Chris a true role model.
