Under Christopher's expert care, a patient experienced hope and encouragement. Out of sincere appreciation for Christopher, the patient wrote these words about his experience:
I have been coming to this hospital for many years due to my illness and Chris has always been there to provide extraordinary care and moral support. Whenever I am feeling down, he has been there to encourage me to keep on fighting, because I need to be there for my children. In my worst moments, Chris has been able to provide care and words of wisdom to help me through the most difficult times. He helped me feel better about the situation and myself. He puts a smile on my face before he leaves the room.
They say that laughter is the best medicine and Chris has always been able to make me laugh, even when I was feeling doom and there was no hope left. He did no let me go down, he taught me to keep on swinging.
He fulfilled any request I made, even when I asked him to try and keep my medications that were not scheduled, on a schedule, he somehow managed to give them on time. He has extraordinary time management skills. I believe that a part of being a great nurse is managing time so that you can keep everything in order.
Chris has a huge heart of gold. I believe God will have a special place for him in heaven. When he gets there he will be taken care of the way he has cared for his patients. He made sure that I understood the side effects of all my medications and explained what will happen in procedures that were ordered. These are just some of the reasons he should be recognized with this DAISY Award.

By definition, compassion characteristic of a nurse that is able to discern needs and respond to them in a competent and compassionate manner. Christopher has consistently demonstrated this type of genuine compassion.
According to his manager, Christopher is a very devoted and dedicated member of the team. He seeks solutions to complex unit and organization based issues. He frequently volunteers to work additional shifts to meet the need of the unit and assist his colleagues. Christopher is one of those people who no matter what happens when he gives you his word, he finds a way to follow through.
